1. Eat fish and chips
What better way to start your UK adventure than by indulging in our national dish – fish and chips. This popular seaside treat dates back to the early 19th Century and has stuck around ever since!

Bournemouth and the south coast is home to some of the best fish and chip shops in the UK, notably the world famous Harry Ramsden’s located next to Bournemouth beach.

5. Eat Cream Tea

Cream teas also known as Devonshire teas date back to the 11th century where its origins are linked to the nearby counties of Cornwall and Devon.

Frieda’s Tea Room is one of Bournemouth’s most popular providers of the cream tea; conveniently located in the centre of the town its traditional decor and various selections of cakes make it a hotspot for the cream tea enthusiast.

6. Take a coastal walk or bike ride
Whether it be by bike or by foot, Bournemouth’s beautiful 7 mile golden coastline is a must-see. The coastline stretches from Sandbanks in Poole to Hengistbury Head in Christchurch and is home to many locally owned restaurants, shops, local attractions and the best views in Bournemouth.

For a great weekend trip why not hire a bicycle from The Front bike hire, and spend the day cycling the entire stretch!

If wildlife is your thing, then Brownsea Island should be on your ‘to do’ list whilst you are here. The Island, located just out from Poole harbour, is a thriving natural conservation site with one of largest natural populations of the endangered red squirrel. It is also the home to many different types of birds, woodland and a lagoon.

8. Get a view of Dorset from the Balloon
Enjoy the sights of Bournemouth from a whole new perspective with a ride on the Bournemouth Balloon! Located in the town’s central gardens, the balloon will take you 150 metres into the air where, on a clear day, you can see all of Bournemouth and its surrounding areas for up to 20 miles.

10. Hit the town!
Bournemouth has a nightclub, pub, or bar for every taste.  The town’s clubs are scattered throughout the centre with a party every night! Be it a rock club or a salsa party, the clubs and bars of Bournemouth have all bases and tastes covered. The most popular club in the town in Halo, situated directly in the town’s centre, is a refurbished church which is now the home to some of the best parties in town, and often host to world class DJ’s.
